Several members of our staff including our Principal Building Surveyor have worked directly for NHS Trusts in their careers and have gained valuable knowledge of procedures and regulations specific to the health service.
We are fully conversant with the Health Technical Memorandum’s, Health Building Note’s, and other current Healthcare regulations and guidance. Healthcare environments are somewhat different to other environments and this requires a different approach to design and construction, which we have fully adopted. Many of our healthcare projects are carried out whilst the building remains in full or partial use to avoid disruption to important services. This in itself brings significant challenges not only to us but also to the contractor who carries out the construction work. We believe we have developed a detailed understanding of the needs of healthcare providers and can manage a project in an appropriate, professional manner, with as little disruption to the staff and patients as possible and to the extremely high standards required.
We specify modern materials and construction methods to achieve finished projects, which comply with fire, health & safety and infection control guidelines. The standards we specify will ensure that areas and rooms with a high volumes of traffic and use will remain in serviceable condition for many years whilst being easy to maintain and clean, which are imperative to a successful healthcare facility.
We currently undertake a number of capital projects for a local NHS Primary Care Trust and have worked successfully with them for several years, developing an excellent understanding of their requirement. Take a look at the Portfolio section of our website to see a selection of the past and current healthcare projects.
